File: Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho
The All Progressives Congress in Odu Ward 2, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, has suspended Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho, representing Kogi East, over alleged anti-party activities.
Party stakeholders say the move is aimed at safeguarding the unity, discipline, and electoral strength of the APC in the district.
Arewa PUNCH reports that the decision followed a resolution by the Ward Executive Committee at its meeting on May 26, 2026, after reviewing what officials described as “protracted anti-party activities” by the senator.
In a suspension letter sighted by our correspondent on Thursday and signed by the ward Chairman, Shaibu Mohammed; and Secretary, Kabiru Mohammed with other executives, the party accused Echocho of hobnobbing with opposition leaders and engaging in talks aimed at defecting from the APC.
