Jibrin Isah (Echocho), member representing Kogi East Senatorial District has been suspended by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Odu Ward 2, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, over alleged anti-party activities.
Party stakeholders say the move was aimed at safeguarding the unity, discipline, and electoral strength of the APC in the district.
The decision followed a resolution by the Ward Executive Committee at its meeting on May 26, 2026, after reviewing what officials described as “protracted anti-party activities,” by the senator.
In a suspension letter sighted by reporters on Wednesday and signed by ward Chairman, Shaibu Mohammed; and Secretary, Kabiru Mohammed with other executives, the party accused Echocho of hobnobbing with opposition leaders and engaging in talks aimed at defecting from the APC.
According to the letter, the Senator’s actions followed what party leaders called a disappointing performance during APC’s political consultations and internal processes.
