Ontario’s new public safety bill would give Premier Doug Ford’s government the “power to issue directives” to police services boards across the province.
The legislation, introduced Monday, proposes to amendments to the Community Safety and Policing Act and would give the solicitor general the authority to establish “priorities” that the boards would be required to reflect in their strategic plans.
