According to the European Commission, the company "failed to diligently identify, analyse and assess the systemic risks" linked to products sold on the platform and the potential harm to consumers.
The European Union has fined Chinese-owned online retailer Temu €200m (£173m) after an investigation found dangerous products, including baby toys and faulty chargers, being sold on its platform.
The penalty followed an investigation launched in October 2024 into whether Temu had complied with obligations required of designated Very Large Online Platforms under European Union law, according to BBC.
