Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has mourned the passing of the Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti, Oba Adebanji Alabi, describing the late monarch as a repository of knowledge, history and culture.

In a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, the governor expressed condolences to the royal family, the people of Ilawe Ekiti and the entire state over the monarch’s death.

Oyebanji said the late traditional ruler presided over a peaceful and prosperous reign that contributed to the development of Ilawe Ekiti, the local government area and Ekiti State as a whole.

“The state has lost a repository of knowledge, history, culture and a selfless servant of his people,” the governor said.
