As development works taken up by the Department of Forest in the Old Courtallam waterfalls area have been completed, District Collector A. K. Kamal Kishore opened the tourist spot for the public.Mr. Kamal Kishore said banned plastic products, detergents, soaps, shampoo, tobacco products, liquor, inflammable materials etc. will not be allowed inside the protected area where the Old Courtallam waterfalls is located. Hence, the public should strictly avoid these products when they come to the Old Courtallam waterfalls area. Those who carry these banned products will be fined appropriately.Autorickshaws should carry passengers in permissible number and violators will be fined.“The development works have been completed before the start of the season for the benefit of the tourists. Hence, the visitors should cooperate with the police and forest personnel regulating the crowd,” Mr. Kamal Kishore said.District Forest Officer R. Rajmohan said the tourists will be allowed between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. to take bath at the Old Courtallam waterfalls which is located within the protected zone.“Liquor, banned tobacco products, plastic products, inflammable materials etc. should not be brought to this zone.
