MANILA, Philippines – The Senate should focus on the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte rather than the multibillion-peso flood control scandal, Tingog Rep. Jude Acidre said on Thursday.

Acidre urged senators to let the state graft buster investigate the flood control projects issue that has stirred tensions in the chamber after some senators were linked to it.

“Let’s allow the Ombudsman to do his job,” Acidre told teleradio channel OnePH, according to a Thursday statement.
