The Ogun State Government has concluded plans to strengthen security around schools across the state, as part of measures aimed at protecting students and educational institutions from emerging security threats.
Governor Dapo Abiodun, according to a statement issued on Wednesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Lekan Adeniran, disclosed this while hosting the League of Imams and Alfas at his Iperu residence during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The governor said the initiative became necessary in response to recent security developments in neighbouring states, stressing that the administration was determined to proactively safeguard schools and secure the future of children in Ogun State.
Recall that there was a coordinated attack on three schools in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State, during which about 39 students and seven teachers were abducted and taken into the bush.
