Plugable's TBT-UDH2 is now shipping and is being aimed at video editors, designers, IT administrators and hybrid workers looking a single-cable solution that drives two HDMI displays natively, without the need for dongles or adapters.
Docking specialist Plugable Technologies has taken the covers off its latest Thunderbolt 5 docking station. The TBT-UDH2 is a 16-in-1 docking station and the first of its kind to feature dual HDMI 2.1 ports for driving two 8K 60Hz or 4K 144Hz displays.
First unveiled at CES 2026, the TBT-UDH2 is now shipping and is being aimed at video editors, designers, IT administrators and hybrid workers looking a single-cable solution that drives two high-resolution displays natively, without the need for dongles or adapters.
Until now, most Thunderbolt 5 docks on the market followed a similar specification because they adhered to Intel’s reference design, consisting of three downstream Thunderbolt ports, but no dedicated video output. This specification has forced anyone using HDMI to connect their displays to buy additional adapters for a dual-monitor setup.
