Flávio Bolsonaro met with U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday (26) at the White House. During the meeting, the presidential hopeful requested that the U.S. government classify the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) and Comando Vermelho (CV) criminal factions as terrorist organizations. According to the senator, Trump said the request is under review. The international agenda comes amid political fallout for Flávio in Brazil over the "Dark Horse" case, which involves funding for a film about his father, Jair Bolsonaro. The senator sought to present himself as a future "ally president" of the United States while criticizing current President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Flávio denied asking for a formal endorsement of his candidacy, but discussed election polling and plans for a possible government starting in 2027.
The meeting took place weeks after Lula’s official visit to Trump. Since the trip was not considered an official Senate mission, Brazil’s Foreign Ministry did not authorize the use of the embassy for the lawmaker’s press conference.
