Emily Atack has revealed she fell pregnant when she was 16, while in an “awful, abusive, horrible relationship”. The Rivals actor opened up about the pregnancy – which she has never shared publicly before – in a new podcast interview, which also saw the star describe herself as a “troubled teen” who was “sexually active with older boys and men”. “My poor parents, they just didn't know what to do with me a lot of the time, and I was hanging around in the wrong crowds,” she said on Elizabeth Day’s How To Fail. “I was sexually active with older boys and men, and that was very difficult for my parents.”Atack added that the pregnancy happened amid her parents’ divorce. Atack currently stars in ‘Rivals’ as Sarah Stratton (PA)In another new interview, the actor revealed she suffered a life-threatening illness after giving birth to her son. She told Grazia magazine: “I went through a very difficult pregnancy. I was very ill after the birth. I had sepsis, I couldn’t leave the house for weeks. It was awful.” Atack is currently promoting the second series of Disney+’s hit Rivals, an adaptation of Jilly Cooper’s racy novel of the same name. Rivals follows the high-stakes world of British television with the backdrop of the 1980s Cotswolds countryside and Atack stars as Sarah Stratton, the mistress-turned-wife of TV executive Paul Stratton, played by Rufus Jones.
