A non-governmental organisation, Arridah Relief Foundation, has distributed food items to over 250 vulnerable households and persons living with disabilities across communities in Kaduna as part of efforts to support residents during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
Speaking during the distribution exercise, Mamman Salima Sani, National President of the Foundation, said the gesture was aimed at easing the burden on struggling families and enabling vulnerable residents to celebrate the Sallah season with dignity.
She explained that the outreach formed part of the organisation’s annual humanitarian programme designed to support widows, orphans, persons with disabilities and other less privileged members of society during festive periods.
According to her, many households are currently finding it difficult to afford basic food items due to the prevailing economic situation in the country.
“We felt it was necessary to support vulnerable families at this period so they can also celebrate Sallah with joy despite the current hardship facing many Nigerians,” she said.
