The Kano State Government has donated 15 cows and food items to inmates across correctional centres in the state to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.
The donation was made through the Chairperson of the Kano State Committee for the Prerogative of Mercy, Hajiya Azumi Namadi-Bebeji, on Tuesday in Kano.
The food items included 15 cows, 115 bags of 50kg rice, 40 jerry cans of 25kg vegetable oil, and assorted soup ingredients, among others.
Namadi-Bebeji said the gesture reflected the commitment of Governor Abba Kabir-Yusuf’s administration to the welfare, dignity and rehabilitation of inmates.
