Ousted former President Park Geun-hye continued stumping for People Power Party (PPP) candidates nationwide ahead of the June 3 local elections with a visit to Jinju, South Gyeongsang, on Wednesday.

The former president visited the city following earlier trips to Daegu and the Chungcheong region as she returned to the conservative fold after laying low since her impeachment in 2017 and release from prison in 2021.

Park called for support for PPP candidates, including South Gyeongsang Gov. Park Wan-su, who is seeking re-election, and Jinju mayoral candidate Han Kyung-ho, at Jungang Market in Jinju. Reps. Park Dae-chul and Kang Min-kuk, who represent the area, also joined the campaign stop.
