An intimate Trio(u) jazz performance brings musicians and audience together in close conversation at The Commons, Muizenberg.

A unique live music experience is set to take place in Muizenberg this month, where audiences will be placed in close proximity to musicians as part of an intimate Trio(u) performance at The Commons.

Pianist Blake Hellaby, bassist Sean Sanby and drummer Pascal Haas will perform from the centre of the room, creating an informal, conversational style of jazz where every musical exchange is visible as well as audible.

The performance forms part of Trio(u), a format designed to blur the line between stage and audience, allowing listeners to experience the interplay between musicians up close.

The repertoire spans global and local influences, with compositions by Bill Evans, Ahmad Jamal, Abdullah Ibrahim and Winston Mankunku featured alongside reimagined interpretations of music by artists such as The Beatles and Beyoncé.
