File: Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron
The Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron, Akwa Ibom State, on Tuesday gained global recognition with the official presentation of the integrated management system certification: ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 21001:2025.
The certificate was officially presented to the management of the academy by the Standards Organisation of Nigeria on Tuesday.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, who was represented by a Deputy Director in the ministry, Mr John Ogwuche, lauded the management of the academy for the feat, describing it as not merely procedural but a demonstration of commitment to excellence, quality assurance and environmental sustainability.
He described the certification as a reflection of the institution’s adherence to internationally recognised standards, best practices and a strong culture of continuous improvement, accountability and operational efficiency.
