According to him, the primary election failed to meet the standards of transparency and fairness earlier promised by the party leadership.

Former Minister of Transportation and former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi has openly rejected the outcome of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary election, describing the results being announced by the party as “concocted” amid allegations of widespread voter disenfranchisement and electoral malpractice.

Amaechi, who was one of the leading contenders in the party’s presidential primary alongside former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and businessman Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, made his position known in a statement posted on his X account on Tuesday.

SaharaReporters earlier reported that Amaechi was set to reject the outcome of the presidential primary election in which former Vice President Atiku would be announced as the winner, and was considering approaching the court to challenge the result.

According to party insiders, the former governor expressed dissatisfaction with the process, describing it as flawed and not a reflection of the true will of delegates, prompting consultations on possible legal action.
