Qazi Kawani, a young tradesman (kasbkar) from the village of “Dolehto” in the Sardasht district, has died due to the severity of his injuries after spending several days in the intensive care unit of Khomeini Hospital in Mahabad.
According to a report by Kolber News, Kawani was targeted by direct gunfire from state armed forces a few nights ago in the “Jasusan” border area of Sardasht. Informed sources stated that the shooting was carried out at close range without any prior warning, and the bullet struck him in the head.
Following the incident, the Kurdish citizen was transferred to Khomeini Hospital in Mahabad and admitted to the intensive care unit. However, he succumbed to his severe injuries and the critical trauma caused by the gunshot wound to his head on the evening of Sunday, May 24. Informed sources also reiterated that the young tradesman was present at the Jasusan border area of Sardasht when state armed forces opened fire directly at him. To date, official authorities have not commented on the details of the incident.
