Taking into account the weather conditions in Tamil Nadu, the department has decided to postpone the reopening date for schools, according to a press release. “Various stakeholders had requested for a uniform reopening date for ease of administration. Further, the prevailing weather conditions and forecasts for the first week of June indicate the likelihood of pre-monsoon activity and associated heat conditions,” the release said.Earlier the department had announced that schools would reopen on June 1 for Classes 4-12 and June 4 for Classes 1-3 as training would be held for primary school teachers on the new textbooks for the classes this academic year.
