The Niger State chapter of the African Democratic Congress, has produced Dr Mohammed Kpautagi as its governorship candidate in the 2027 general elections.

Kpautagi was declared the winner after defeating his opponent, Alhaji Idrisu Makanta, in 24 of the state’s 25 local government areas.

The Niger State Returning Officer and Secretary of the ADC Primary Election Committee, Ibrahim Mohammed, made the announcement on Tuesday during the official declaration of the primary election results for the aspirants into the Governorship, Senate, House of Representatives and House of Assembly elections in Minna.

Kpautagi secured a total of 67,924 votes while his opponent, Usman, scored 27,769 votes across the 25 local government areas of the state.

The returning officer also announced the winners of the three senatorial seats of the ADC primary elections including Niger North, Alhaji Shehu Mohammed, Niger East Muktar Ahmed who was unopposed while the Niger South was Baba Agaie a former deputy leader of the house of representatives.
