Some chieftains of the All Progressives Congress in Agege Local Government Area of Lagos State have rejected the emergence of Shakiru Sule as the party’s candidate for Agege Constituency II, insisting that he did not participate in the party’s primary election.

The protest was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Coordinator of the Agege Rescue Mission, Moses Ajimotokan, who called on the state leadership of the APC to review the decision and recognise what the group described as the authentic winner of the primary election.

The group maintained that Mutiu Olaide Oladeebo, popularly known as Okadigbo, emerged from the primary conducted across the six wards in the constituency.

According to the statement, Sule only purchased nomination forms but did not participate in the primary process organised by the party.

“We woke up today to realise that the leadership of our party, the All Progressives Congress, has slated one Shakiru Akindele Sule as the candidate of our party in Agege State Constituency II.
