The American Music Awards returned for the second year in a row on Memorial Day Monday to hand out trophies to the best in music. Queen Latifah served as host of the show, making her return as MC for the first time in more than 30 years.

Taylor Swift is the most nominated artist of the year with eight nominations. In addition to nominations for Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for The Life of a Showgirl, the album’s first single, “The Fate of Ophelia” is up for Song of the Year, Best Pop Song of the Year, and Best Music Video, while “Elizabeth Taylor” is nominated for Song of the Summer.

Just behind Swift, with seven nominations each are Sabrina Carpenter, Morgan Wallen, and first-time nominees Olivia Dean and Sombr. Dean and Sombr go head-to-head in the categories of New Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Breakthrough Album of the Year, one of 11 newly added categories for this year’s ceremony.
