MANILA, Philippines — Minority senators on Monday slammed Senator Imee Marcos’s presentation on a constitutional assembly plot, calling it “propaganda” and “fake news” that threatened the integrity of the Senate.

The dispute, marked by sharp language and a review of parliamentary rules, began when Marcos, during her privilege speech, presented a video alleging a plot to block Vice President Sara Duterte’s presidential bid and extend President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s tenure through Charter change.

Former Majority Leader Migz Zubiri, while the video was being played, was observed calling the presentation “foul.”

“I just want to point out that the video the lady senator presented was obviously opinionated, a propaganda tool. It should be stricken off the record, Madam President. It is unparliamentary,” Zubiri said.
