Two Greeks were arrested early Monday for involvement in sports-related violence following the EuroLeague basketball final in Athens, police said.
A police statement said the one arrest came after clashes between two rival groups of fans turned into an attack on police on central Alexandras Avenue, during which a police motorcycle was damaged but no injuries were recorded.
The second suspect was arrested after three men in a car approached basketball fans walking in another part of Athens and threatened to stab them unless they handed over their team scarves.
Police said the car driver is in custody and the two passengers are being sought.
