TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vietnam's northern and central regions will continue to be hit by severe heatwaves until Wednesday, May 27, and Thursday, May 28, respectively, local media Thanh Nien reported on Monday, as quoted by ANTARA.According to Vietnam's National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, the central region stretching from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang and eastern Quang Ngai will experience the most extreme heat on Monday, with daytime temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius in some areas.Temperatures between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius are expected in the northern and eastern central regions, stretching from Gia Lai to Lam Dong, with some areas reaching over 39 degrees Celsius.Increased electricity consumption during a heat wave could increase the risk of electrical fires, while some areas are also on alert for potential forest fires.Read: Look Up!
