Over 1.2 million Filipino professionals are expected to benefit from a House bill seeking to extend the validity of Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) licenses from three years to five years, House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III said.
According to Dy, House Bill No. 8876, which seeks to amend existing provisions governing the renewal of Professional Identification Cards (PICs) issued by the PRC, will help ease the recurring financial and administrative burdens faced by professionals who regularly spend time and money renewing their licenses.
“Our professionals are among the most important forces in our society. They include teachers, nurses, engineers, accountants, doctors, and other professionals who serve daily and help keep our country running,” Dy said.
“By extending the validity of their PRC licenses from three years to five years, repeated costs, inconvenience, and the time spent on the renewal process will be reduced. This is a practical and humane measure to support our workforce.”
