A publisher and sports owner clashed with a former close adviser to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during the Euroleague basketball final underway between Olympiakos and Real Madrid.

A video posted on social media shows Vangelis Marinakis, owner of Olympiakos’ soccer club, and Grigoris Dimitriadis, speaking to each other at high volume, with a person next to Marinakis throwing an Olympiakos scarf at Dimitriadis’ face. The two were separated by a barrier and security personnel and, at least during the duration of the clip, did not come in contact with one another.

Dimitriadis, who is also Mitsotakis’ nephew, was implicated in the phone tapping scandal targeting opposition as well as government figures and forced to resign in 2022 as general secretary to the PM. Mitsotakis has denied involvement.
