A 28-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death near Vedaranyam in Nagapattinam district following a dispute linked to prior enmity, police said on Sunday.The deceased was identified as Senthilkumar of Panaiyadiputhagai village near Katharipulam. Police said he had reportedly quarreled with Mahendran, a resident of the same locality, a few days ago while consuming alcohol.On Saturday night, Senthilkumar was found dead with severe head injuries near Nagakkudaiyan Odai on the way to a TASMAC outlet at Avarikadu. Based on a complaint, Police personnel from Kariyapattinam police station recovered the body and sent it to the Government Hospital in Vedaranyam for post-mortem examination.Police have registered a case and detained Mahendran for inquiry.
