Tree planting at Manenberg Police Station where Minister of Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni was present together with the station commander, Brigadier Jayce Naidoo.

Minister of Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni has carried out a symbolic tree planting session in Manenberg, which forms part of peace and growth for the community and its police officers. The station commander of Manenberg Police Station, Brigadier Jayce Naidoo, was part of the event, including many other role players.

Minister Ntshavheni, who is responsible for Government Communication and Information System (GCIS), Brand South Africa, State Security, Statistics South Africa (Stats SA), and the Media Development and Diversity Agency (MDDA), planted a tree at the Manenberg Police Station, a living symbol of peace, resilience, and growth.

According to the Manenberg Police Station spokesperson, Captain Ian Bennett, the piece of ground will now become their peace garden. “The event marked a historic day for the Manenberg policing precinct and the police station,” said Bennett. “The Minister hit the ground in a “Love Your Street” during a cleaning campaign, a mission beautifying an area that is riddled with social ills, Tambo Village, where the Minister’s presence was warmly welcomed. Armed with blue bags, her team visibly picked up every piece of paper lying on the ground. Her patience and sincerity stand out. She made time to listen to people, made no promises, but her presence was overwhelmingly calming.
