MANILA, Philippines — Senator Sherwin “Win” Gatchalian believes fairness, neutrality and impartiality are important in handling the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.
Gatchalian enumerated these principles which, he said, will govern the proceeding if he is elected Senate president and if he will lead the Senate impeachment court.
The senator’s statement comes amid ongoing efforts by the minority bloc in the Senate to install him as the chamber’s new leader.
“It is important to be just and fair. It is important to be impartial and neutral, and to carefully study the Articles of Impeachment,” Gatchalian said in a DWIZ interview on Saturday.
