Khoa Tran may be accused of murdering his upstairs neighbour in their Liberty Village townhouse complex — where his body was found wrapped in towels and blankets in the garbage compactor — but the only thing he maintains he’s guilty of is throwing out the victim’s bicycle.
Testifying in his own defence on Friday, the 36-year-old man charged with second-degree murder denied he was even in Reeyaz Habib’s unit on the night of June 6, 2023, when the neighbourhood was awoken by a man’s screams for help.
