31 bales of dagga seized as KZN police arrest one of their own.
A police Constable based in Durban's Public Order Policing unit is among three suspects arrested in Babanango, KwaZulu-Natal, after officers intercepted a vehicle allegedly transporting dagga along the R34 on Friday afternoon.
Police said they received intelligence about a white Toyota Rumion suspected of carrying dagga from Nongoma towards Ulundi, prompting a multi-unit operation involving officers from Babanango, Ulundi, Mahlabathini and the Ulundi K9 Unit.
"Upon searching the vehicle, police found 31 bales of dagga wrapped with a brown cello tape," said SAPS spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda.
