MANILA, Philippines — Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano has drawn more flak as the student council of his former law school said the senator “fell short” of the ethical leadership expected of him.

It wasn’t just Cayetano’s contemporaries from the University of the Philippines and his former classmates at Ateneo Law who weighed in on his Senate presidency.

This time, even the current Ateneo Law Student Council for Academic Year 2025-2026 has joined the discussions.

In its statement on Thursday, the Ateneo Law School student council expressed disappointment in the Senate president, saying his “commitment to impunity” was a “mockery” of the school’s values.
