MANILA, Philippines — Former leaders of student political parties from the University of the Philippines (UP)–Diliman have called on Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano to resign from the Senate presidency.
They believe that the Senate under his leadership became a “stage for political theater, confusion and brinkmanship.”
Groups SAMASA and Nagkakaisang Tugon made the joint statement, recalling that the two political parties once stood on the opposite sides of political battles in the history of UP student politics.
