The Oyo State Government, through the Agricultural Credit Corporation of Oyo State, has commenced the distribution of subsidised food commodities to interested workers in the state as part of efforts to cushion the economic challenges ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

Chairman of the Agricultural Credit Corporation of Oyo State, Akeugberu Akeugbagold, disclosed this during the unveiling of the distribution exercise held on the corporation’s premises in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

According to a statement issued on Friday by the Commissioner for Information, Dotun Oyelade, and made available to newsmen in Ibadan, Akeugbagold said the initiative was aimed at supporting workers to celebrate the festive season with ease.

The ACCOS chairman, who spoke through the Coordinating Head of the corporation, Mr Tunde Oladejo, revealed that “over ₦120 million was expended on the procurement of the commodities.”
