Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently made an earnest appeal to citizens, urging everyone to revive the work-from-home culture. His initiative aims to limit unnecessary fuel consumption, reduce import dependence, and conserve foreign exchange amid the ongoing Middle Eastern energy crisis. Additionally, Modi emphasised that the austerity measures, reminiscent of the Covid era, would reduce India's fuel use and help save foreign exchange. Not long after the proposal, actor-politician Ravi Kishan, who will next be seen in Netflix’s Maa Behen, gave a nod to Modi’s appeal but found himself at the centre of memes when he accidentally referred to work from home as ‘home from work’. Ravi Kishan on his ‘home from work’ commentNow, Ravi Kishan has finally broken his silence on the matter at Maa Behen’s trailer launch event, which took place in Mumbai on May 22. He was accompanied by the film’s other cast members, Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri. During the media interaction, Ravi was asked to share his thoughts on the ‘home from work’ statement and he addressed the issue in a composed and jestful manner. Ravi Kishan admitted that he has absolutely no idea as to why he starts trending on social media, reported Hindustan Times. Before the viral gaffe, he recalled mistakenly saying the phrase ‘jaldi the late’ on a previous occasion. Explaining the current slip-up, the 56-year-old shared that he was on his way to Parliament and intended to say ‘work from home,’ but accidentally ended up saying ‘home from work’, causing a social media uproar. Being human is to err says Ravi KishanRavi Kishan pointed out that it was a human error and he, being a normal person, has verbal mishaps like any other individual. The actor-political, however, playfully remarked that whenever he commits such a mistake unknowingly, people look at him as if he has come from another dimension. ‘Mujhe log aise dekhte hain ki main kisi alag hi space se aaya hun… Mujhe aap log viral kyun karte ho, mujhe nahi pata,’ he said, as quoted by Hindustan Times. For the unversed, Ravi Kishan, in an interview with news agency PTI, agreed to PM Modi’s work-from-home flexibility appeal. But his slip of tongue blew out of proportion on social media, sparking memes and jokes. Here’s a clip of the same posted by a page on X.
