BEIJING, May 22. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to China is seen as further confirmation of the high level of political mutual trust between the two countries amid global uncertainty and economic instability, Xu Qinduo, an expert from the Chinese think tank Pangu, has told TASS.
The way he sees it, the significance of the Russian leader's visit is underscored by several symbolic dates - the 30th anniversary of the strategic partnership between Russia and China, the 25th anniversary of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship, and Cooperation, and the launch of the Russian-Chinese Cross-Year Education Program.
This visit, he noted, is of particular importance for strengthening the long-term stability of bilateral relations. The expert noted that Russia-China cooperation is "not directed against third parties" and is based on sustainable strategic coordination, not temporary political expediency.
"China considers close cooperation with Russia important for maintaining global strategic stability and promoting what Beijing calls a more 'multipolar' and 'balanced' international order," Xu said.
The expert also drew attention to the international context of the visit. Amid increasing pressure from the West, Beijing and Moscow have additional incentives to deepen coordination in diplomacy, trade, finance, and technology.
