Police are widening the scope of their investigation into Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor to include allegations of sexual misconduct.

Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office in February after emails contained in the Epstein files appeared to show him sharing confidential documents with the convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein while serving as UK trade envoy.

As part of the inquiry, Thames Valley Police is assessing a claim that Epstein sent a woman to the UK to have sex with Mountbatten-Windsor at Royal Lodge, his former home in Windsor, in 2010, before she was given a tour of Buckingham Palace.

It is the first police investigation to look into claims from an Epstein survivor of a sexual encounter at a royal residence.
