Group backs digital transformation
Mr Chakkrit says Thailand's telecom sector is entering a new era beyond connectivity services.
The Telecommunications Association of Thailand (TCT) wants to position the sector as digital infrastructure forming part of Thailand's artificial intelligence (AI)-driven digital economy.The Thai telecom sector is entering a new era beyond connectivity services, with TCT unveiling a strategic vision aimed at transforming it into a pillar of the AI-driven economy, said newly appointed president Chakkrit Urairat.
This digital infrastructure should be capable of supporting Thailand's long-term economic transformation and enhancing the country's competitiveness on the global stage, he noted.
The initiative reflects the industry's expanding role in enabling AI, cloud computing, data centres, cybersecurity and next-generation digital services across both the public and private sectors, said Mr Chakkrit.
