LUCENA CITY, Quezon — Two suspected big-time drug traffickers were arrested early Thursday, May 21, and yielded more than P1.4 million worth of suspected shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation in Batangas City.

The Police Regional Office 4A in a report said that anti-drug operatives arrested the suspects identified only as “Leony” and “Bopak” at around 12:44 a.m. after they allegedly sold P10,000 worth of shabu to an undercover police operative in a transaction in Barangay Sta. Clara.

The suspects were caught in alleged possession of 42 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu with an estimated weight of 209.74 grams.

Based on the Dangerous Drugs Board’s standard valuation, the seized drugs were worth P1,426,232 at P6,800 per gram.
