A Peravur native lost more than ₹54 lakh in an alleged online trading fraud.The Kannur Rural District Cyber Crime police registered a case against three persons based on a complaint filed by P. Gireesh of Perunthody, Peravur.The accused have been identified as Ravi Kumar, Parvathy, and Lokanathan. According to the complaint, Ravi Kumar contacted Gireesh through WhatsApp and lured him into online trading by promising high returns. The accused allegedly cheated him after gaining his trust.The police said that ₹53.83 lakh was transferred to various bank accounts between February 26 and March 30, 2026, from the accounts of Gireesh and his friend Pramod. The police also have registered a case against an Israeli-based company.An investigation has been launched under the leadership of rural cyber crime police Inspector K.G. Krishnakumar.
