MANILA, Philippines — Coup attempts in the Senate are ongoing as the slim gap between the majority and minority blocs continues to “tempt” senators into trying to secure their numbers, Sen. Erwin Tulfo said on Wednesday.
Asked about persistent rumors of another coup attempt, Tulfo, who is part of the minority bloc, said the numbers remain the deciding factor.
“That is ongoing. That is continuous. Look at the number, 12-11. You’ll be tempted. They’re only 12, we are 11. Only one person has to make a step, the boxing match is finished,” Tulfo told Senate reporters, saying attempts for the coup have not died down.
