MANILA, Philippines — The absence of many senators belonging to the new majority bloc during Monday’s session did not escape the attention of Sen. Erwin Tulfo.
“Where are our colleagues from the majority at this very moment? Are they still around, Sir, Ma’am? Because we are the only ones left here. I already miss them, Madam President,” Tulfo, who is now part of the new opposition group in the Senate, asked in a mix of English and Filipino on the Senate floor.
He was directing his question to the presiding officer, Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda, and Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, who was acting as majority floor leader at that time.
