The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education has launched phase two of its matric second chance programme, offering free tuition and expanded opportunities for learners to achieve their Grade 12 certificates.

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education has officially launched phase two of its matric second chance programme, aimed at providing additional academic support to learners seeking to improve their results.

The initiative forms part of the Department of Basic Education’s broader Second Chance Matric Programme, which gives learners an opportunity to rewrite subjects in order to obtain the National Senior Certificate (NSC) or Senior Certificate (SC) and ultimately secure their matric qualification.

The department said it intends expanding the programme to ensure that more young people are given an opportunity to improve their academic outcomes and realise their potential.

Learners participating in the programme will qualify for free tuition, offering much-needed support to families facing financial pressure.
