This comes to mind as I wait for the European Commission’s decision on the future of European fur farming.
But I get ahead of myself, let me go back a few steps….
For over 10 years I spent my professional life promoting and defending the fur trade. As director of standards for the International Fur Federation, I oversaw compliance with international and national welfare regulations and industry standards.
I was also chief executive for the British Fur Trade. I presented publicly the welfare-washing PR narrative that was and still is used to try to persuade politicians that fur is ethical and responsible.
