The widow of late Chief Stephen Obaloluwa Oyetade, Mrs Beatrice Oyetade, and her children have urged the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja to dismiss a suit challenging the administration of the deceased’s estate, contending that the court lacks territorial jurisdiction to entertain the matter.
Oyetade, alongside Obafemi Oyetade, Dr Abigail Oyebola and Daniel Oyetade, through their counsel, George Oyeniyi, filed a Notice of Preliminary Objection, arguing that the dispute originated in Osun State and had already been determined by the Osun State High Court.
The defendants argued that the suit, marked ID/8279/FPM/2025, constituted an abuse of court process, noting that a similar action had earlier been instituted and dismissed by the Osun State High Court.
The earlier suit, filed by Mr Obayemi Oyetade and Mrs Grace Yemisi Oyetade, sought to invalidate the Letters of Administration granted to the Osun State Administrator-General and Public Trustee over the estate.
