The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), in its latest weekly report, has published an updated list of imprisoned journalists in Iran. The list reveals that at least nine journalists and photojournalists remain in the custody of the Islamic Republic.
According to the report, Reza Valizadeh, a former reporter for Radio Farda, traveled to Iran in March of last year and was subsequently arrested by security forces in early October. Mohammad Parsi, the editor-in-chief of the Kandoo publication, was also detained on February 4 after being summoned to the Culture and Media Court and transferred to an unknown location.
Further down the list is Artin Ghazanfari, a photojournalist who was arrested at his private residence in Mashhad on January 9. Additionally, Somayeh Heidari, a reporter for the Yol publication, and Pedram Alamdari, the publication’s editor-in-chief, were arrested by security forces at their homes in Tabriz on January 31.
Kianoush Darvishi, a journalist and former reporter for Ensaf News, was detained on February 16 after being summoned by the IRGC Intelligence Organization and transferred to the Greater Tehran Central Penitentiary. Moslem Zarei, a journalist and cultural activist, was arrested in Kermanshah on March 17, and no information is currently available regarding his fate.
