A pet exhibition and dog show will be organised on May 24 as part of the 49th Yercaud Summer Festival, which will be held for seven days from May 22 to 28.In a release, Collector K. Elambahavath said the event, to be organised by the Animal Husbandry Department, would begin at 10 a.m. at Yercaud. The exhibition will feature parrots, birds, cats, and various foreign dog breeds, including Alsatian, Pomeranian, German Shepherd, Dobermann, Labrador, Pug, Bulldog, Boxer, Cocker Spaniel, and Dachshund. Native breeds such as Rajapalayam, Kombai, and Chippiparai will also participate.Obedience drills and stunt performances by police dogs will be among the highlights of the event. Prizes will be distributed to the best pets selected at the exhibition. Pet owners have been invited to participate in large numbers by bringing their pets to the event, the Collector said.
