Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi took part in a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council at the level of commanders-in-chief held at the NATO headquarters in Brussels.
According to Ukrinform, Syrskyi briefed partners on the battlefield situation and the needs of Ukrainian forces, stating that the Russian army is losing at least 1,000 servicemen killed and wounded every day. The remarks were published on the commander-in-chief’s Facebook page.
"Every day, the Russian army loses at least 1,000 servicemen killed and wounded. Since the beginning of 2026, the enemy's total losses have already exceeded 141,500 personnel, including more than 83,000 irreversible losses," he said.
Syrskyi also informed partners about the current operational situation on the front line, the needs of Ukrainian forces, and key priorities for strengthening military capabilities. He stressed that Ukraine's active defense tactics are enabling its forces to wear down the enemy, regain positions, and inflict maximum losses on Russian troops.
"Our unmanned systems units play an important role in this. For the fifth consecutive month, Russia has been losing more personnel due solely to their operations than it is capable of mobilizing," Syrskyi said.
