General Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has said that the pace of Russia's advance has fallen by more than half during the first six months of 2026, while Russian forces are suffering average monthly losses of around 32,000 personnel killed and wounded.

Quote: "The enemy attempted to launch a large-scale offensive but, in reality, failed to achieve any of its objectives despite having almost a twofold advantage in personnel and equipment. Whereas the Russian army had previously been conducting active offensive operations on 13 operational fronts, there are now no more than six or seven."
